KMRE 102.3 FM is a non-commercial, community-based low power radio station licensed to and operated by the Spark Museum of Electrical Invention since 2005. KMRE was originally founded with the goal of creating a living exhibit of the beginning days of radio, and since that time has evolved into a true community station.

Our programming features community information, education, and entertainment shows created by and for the people of Bellingham and Whatcom County, and showcases Spark’s vast historical media collection from the Golden Age of Radio which ranges from the very beginning of recorded sound in the late 1800’s up through the evolution of today’s music. KMRE provides access to the broadcast studios to local non-profits and community producers who are interested in highlighting particular types of music or entertainment as well as community conversations about issues that matter to all of us.
